The 15th edition of Prague Pride was a resounding success, bringing together over 45,000 participants for the iconic Saturday parade and hosting more than 180 events throughout the week. Despite the rainy weather, the festival radiated support and a strong sense of community, perfectly reflecting this year’s theme of “home” – a place where everyone should feel safe and welcome.
Our local chapter’s partnership, Každá plechovka se počítá, with Prague Pride made a significant impact in promoting sustainability and drink can recycling. Throughout the week on Střelecký Island, our signature metal heart installation was filled with empty cans. On Saturday, it was moved to a prime location at Letná, right in front of the main paid zone. The heart was filled almost entirely in a single day, demonstrating the enthusiasm of festival-goers for recycling. The dedicated recycling ambassadors ensured all cans were properly collected, keeping the venue clean despite challenging weather conditions.
Collaboration was key:
Proud Brewery sampled around 9,000 cans of 0.5L beer.
Coca-Cola distributed 20,000 specially branded 0.33L cans in the paid zone.
Our team ensured all cans were properly collected and recycled.
