Recycle Dat! 2025: Let the Good Times Roll… Sustainably!

February 22-March 2

Recycle Dat! 2025 By the Numbers:

Recycle Dat! Programs

On-Route Recycling Stations

Find staffed recycling stations along Napoleon and St. Charles Avenue during weekend day parades and Wednesday and Thursday evening parades. These hubs will accept aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles and unwanted throws. Grab a crawfish sack to collect clean throws for reuse!

Doubling Your Impact and Dollars

All empty aluminum beverage cans collected along the parade route will be taken to the EMR Metal Recycling Mid-City location, which will pay the market rate for the cans. ECC U.S. will match the revenue generated and all proceeds will support three local charities: Grow Dat Youth Farm, S.O.U.L. and T.R.E.E. Nola. Last year, this initiative raised over $3,000 for local nonprofits!

In addition, New Orleans community members are encouraged to bring empty aluminum beverage cans  between February 19 and March 5 to the EMR Metal Recycling Mid-City location (2525 Lafitte Street) and Every Can Counts U.S. will double your funds (up to $5,000) for donation to the local charities or a personal check. You choose! Last year, during this two-week doubling offer, 6,375 pounds (or 215,475 cans) were brought directly to EMR for doubling, with nearly $5,000 paid out to participants.

Recycling Rewards

Parade-goers who turn in full bags of aluminum beverage cans, bottles or throws at recycling stations during the route recycling program are eligible to win prizes as part of a sweepstakes from local sponsors. Sweepstakes rewards will be given out at the end of each day of route recycling. Follow @recycle_dat on Instagram for prizes and selected winners.

Recycle World

Experience recycling like never before at Recycle World, sponsored by Coca-Cola, Coke United and Premium Parking Operated by Osprey Initiative! This interactive mega-recycling station at the Premier Parking lot on the corner of Louisiana and St. Charles Avenue will show you the direct impact of your recycling efforts.

Additional Parade and Drop-Off Programs

Following the Thursday night Babylon, Chaos and Muses parades on Feb. 27, there will be volunteers sweeping the streets to pick up recyclables before the city clean up. And from Jan. 27-March 7, downtown hotels will collect donated throws from guests during Carnival season. Throws are picked up and turned over to various nonprofits like ArcGNO.
