The beverage can is the hero: It is the most recycled packaging in the world, it is infinitely recyclable and 75% of all the aluminium ever produced is still in use today!

Jede Dose zählt is the Austrian declination of the Every Can Counts programme. It was established in 2010 to increase recycling rates and raise awareness among old and young people in Austria about the precious raw material aluminium. Because what many don’t know: Aluminium is infinitely recyclable with no loss of quality. 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

Although this is a good number, the Jede Dose zählt programme has set itself the ambitious goal to further increase it and therefore show people how easy and fun recycling can be. Because aluminium is all around us. We use it in our daily life, be it that bicycle we go to school or work with, the drinks can we enjoy on the go or our new iPod which contains aluminium as well. Compared to producing aluminium, the recycling of it saves up to 95 % of the energy. For us it is crystal clear: Aluminium recycling has no limits!

In the past years, Jede Dose zählt has been to several music, sports and culture festivals all over Austria to deliver the recycling message. Starting with 2017 the programme was relaunched completely and now has a brand-new website and even its own Virtual Reality game in order to reach the younger target groups. The game focuses on the recycling of beverage cans, since we know that especially young people often buy cans but do not know about recycling and the benefits of it. We also produced a videoclip to support this message which is being played in several sports stadiums in Austria.

In order to put the programme on a broad basis and secure its long-term success, Jede Dose zählt partners with important stakeholders and companies to improve recycling in Austria. Everywhere we go, we shout out loud: Give the can a second chance!
