Every Can Counts Ireland campaign helps win Public Sector Award 2015

Alupro Ireland ran a variety of campaigns including Every Can Counts and educational programme – Eco Alu Art & Design as part of Young Environmentalist programme to CAN It!

The Every Can Counts programme is Alupro Irelands main campaign and provides collection and communications materials to individuals, companies and the public sector, including local authorities, schools and government departments to enable them to segregate cans at source for recycling.

As part of the events season, Every Can Counts Ireland attended over 12 events in 2015 with more than 120 volunteers working at music festivals and public outdoor events around the country, encouraging behavioural change and  separating cans to ensure they were recycled.

Every Can Counts Ireland has over 360 members with over 850 collection points with an additional 105 members for 2015 in business and community.

In 2016, Every Can Counts Ireland will be introducing new can crushers for 2016. These will be located in local authority areas, Meath and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, at public sites like Tayto Park, St. Andew’s College and IADT College.

At the helm of Alupro Ireland is Karen Mahon and she stated ‘We are delighted with all awards and award nominations in 2015, including the Green Awards nomination for Best Environmental NGO, the Best Green Festival Award for Green Fléadh as core partners and finally as outright winner of the Public Sector Award for Best Environmental Initiative in December – it is wonderful to see that the work we are doing is recognised and I really hope that we can build on this success in 2016.’
